Kavita S. – Maternity

Here’s Kavita my wife. I never got an opportunity to take full advantage of a pregnant woman living with me. Kavita and I had so many great ideas for images we wanted to capture while she was pregnant, unfortunately we both were unbelievably busy and time together was used to prepare for Jaymin’s arrival. I snuck some shots of her baby bump in during an engagement shoot in Washington DC and again only 7 days before she gave birth. I was so disappointed I didn’t get time to do more with her.

She really wanted a silhouette of herself and we never could get the time to pull it off except early on in her pregnancy at the beach. Never when she had her full belly which she was so proud of. This was one of the reasons why I decided to take time off from the business. If I didn’t have time to take pictures of my wife what would that mean about time with my son? As you can see in one of the images below he was ready to come out. Kavita’s belly moved so much for a few minutes it looked like he was doing somersaults.

Shafa D. – Maternity

Shafa was looking for a different style of maternity images when she was pregnant with her second child. I decided to pull out the studio’s new black backdrop and use some dramatic lighting and creative post processing.

Kelly L. – Maternity

Kelly has been a friend for years. Hers was the first wedding I brought a camera to. She was also one of my first headshots. As a friend Kelly and I were really close and when Kelly struggled to get pregnant it was a struggle for all of us. After years of trying, numerous doctor’s appointments and a hundred pee tests, Kelly found out the good news at the end of 2007. She was having twins! She was so proud of her baby bump she didn’t even want me to Photoshop out her linea nigra.

Briganti Girls – Family Portraits

Here’s a family portrait session set in front of a black background. I love the way the lighting came out with these using my new studio lights. I was primarily a natural light photographer before this year so using big studio flashes didn’t come “naturally” to me. But over the last few months something clicked and I’m loving the results.

Kruti & Anish – Engagement Session

I got to spend a quick hour and a half with Kruti & Anish for their engagement session in New York CIty. We walked a small part of the West Side Highway and then snuck into a park that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of. I’ll get to shoot Kruti and Anish’s wedding in July. These engagement sessions are a great way for me to get to know a couple before their big day.
